The whole family got to go to Colorado for Christmas this year!! My cousins, Aunt and Uncle, and Grandparents were there too. "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas..." well guess what, my dream came true- we had a white Christmas!! We arrived in Colorado on the 21st, we immediately started a fire and got relaxed. During the week we did a few activities Dad and I walked around town together, the whole family went sledding and I think all of us fell over at least once and Mom ran into some one, we went on a hike through the snow and came to a gorgeous view of mountains..."I lift mine eyes up, unto the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from you, maker of heavens, Creator of the earth."... we also went to "Coffee on the Rocks" and played games while drinking coffee or smoothies, and walking through town to see the beautiful lights. When we were at home we played a lot of cribbage games, sat in in hot tube, decorated the house, watched Sense and Sensibility and ate peppermint ice cream, and one of the best things is that we went into the woods and cut down our own Colorado Christmas tree. Christmas morning we had a fantastic brunch. The menu was coffee cake, cinnamon roles, egg casserole, fruit salad, and orange juice. Yum! After breakfast we opened our stockings, I think stockings are the most fun! So after stockings we opened our "Secret Santa" gifts, here's who everybody had in our family... Caleb had Grace, Luke had Caleb, Aaron had Abigail, Grace had Leah, Leah had Hannah, Hannah had Luke, and Abigail had Aaron. Everyone was very clever with their "Secret Santa" gifts. The best part of opening presents is seeing the glow in the people's faces when they open your gift. I love seeing that glow!!! The rest of the day we just enjoyed our time together by playing games, watching basketball (Go Spurs Go!) reading, and laughing with each other. Our Christmas dinner was full of steak, potatoes, and laughter!! We left early on the 27th. I'm very grateful for the family that I have and the time that we got to spend together on Christmas day and through the whole week. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everybody!!!!
God Bless,
Grace Macias
